RESEARCH PROJECT

Cosynus is a recent team created in 2023 which aimed at developping new strategy for bioproduction using cell factories and renewable carbone sources as an alternative to petrochemical sources.

We are particularly focused on the yeast Yarrowia lipolytica and we are developping synthetic biology tools and strategy to turn this yeast into an industrial cell factory with final targets as various as terpenes or dyes.

To improve productivity and to alleviate bottleneck like metabolic burden arose from massive genetic engineering, we are setting up synthetic consortia with « division of labor » strategy. We focus on methodologies to establish community system and a comprehensive understanding of synthetic consortia metabolic collaborations.
