Description du Projet:

I have always been interested in science and languages. I guess this is evident from my trajectory so far.
I did my undergrad back home, in Murcia (Spain), where I graduated as a Biologist with a double specialization in Biotechnology and Biomedicine. I then decided to go to Durham University, UK, where I started to obtain real experience in the lab. During two years I focused on protein expression and purification and protein biochemistry. Even though I was very happy working at Durham, I decided it would be best for me to do a PhD in France. I was recommended to contact this group from INRA, Jouy-en-Josas. Although I did continue searching in other directions, I ended up "caught" by them. We cannot deny the quality of the work performed here and the great atmosphere there is. During the next three years I will be studying some of the genes involved in cell wall synthesis in Gram-positive bacteria. For this I will combine a series of techniques, from molecular biology to microscopy via transcriptomics and biochemistry.
Hypothesizing that I survive this PhD, I will continue pursuing a career in research or will hate pipettes and white coats...
