I am a M2 student in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Udine. I am perfoming a two-month internship at Inrae under the Erasmus program. My studies focus on a phenotypical adaptation of S. aureus to different media (BHI, serum and milk) and, in particular, how its envelope is modified in different media. I would like to develop a magnetic pre-concentration of S. aureus in the three media using magnetic beads and a specific aptamer that targets S. aureus envelope. The effective pre-concentration of bacterial cells from complex media enables to boost the efficiency of its diagnostic.
