PAPPSO-Jouy

Paris South-West Proteomic Analysis Platform

The Paris South-West Proteomic Analysis Platform (PAPPSO), INRAE’s proteomic platform, is led by two research engineers, Céline Henry and Mélisande Blein-Nicolas. C. Henry oversees operations at the Jouy-en-Josas site, while M. Blein-Nicolas manages the Moulon site. The team comprises nine permanent staff members, including specialists in bioinformatics and mass spectrometry. Collaborating closely with Micalis teams, PAPPSO integrates proteomic analyses into research projects, enhancing the understanding of biological systems. While serving primarily teams in Île-de-France, PAPPSO also collaborates with French and European counterparts. Engaged in 30 funded projects annually, PAPPSO contributes to around 18 publications each year, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and innovation.

The PAPPSO Jouy facility offers research teams state-of-the-art equipment, skills, and expertise in proteomics, enabling them to address both simple and complex questions. These include protein quantification in complex samples like metaproteomics (especially human gut), dynamics of post-translational modifications, peptidomics, and protein composition in extracellular vesicles across different matrices. These services are provided within the framework of collaborative projects and contracts. PAPPSO is open to both national and international collaborations.

Practical informations

The PAPPSO facility was formed by merging two complementary platforms. One is located in Jouy-en-Josas and specializes in prokaryote proteomics, also performing eukaryote analysis, while the other is in Gif-sur-Yvette (Le Moulon) and focuses on plant proteomics. The scientific manager of PAPPSO is Mélisande Blein-Nicolas (contact: melisande.blein-nicolas@inrae.fr). PAPPSO Jouy has four Micalis scientists as referents: Alessandro Pagliuso, Marianne De Paepe, Christel Archambaud, and Pierre Larraufie. The complementarity of their expertise allows the PAPPSO facility to offer various types of analyses, including protein or peptide separation and shotgun techniques. PAPPSO specializes in high-throughput proteomics (quantitative analysis of large sample cohorts) and the analysis of highly complex samples (metaproteomics). The platform also develops bioinformatics tools to process these experiments and provides support to users for data interpretation.
