Dr Geneviève Héry-Arnaud, PharmD PhD, is Assistant Professor of Bacteriology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Brest, and Hospital Practitioner in Department of Microbiology, Brest University Hospital.

She did a Master of “Microbial Ecology” at University of Lyon 1 and her PhD in the team “Bacteria and Materno-Fetal Risk” (EA3854) at University of François Rabelais (Tours), studying the role of mobile genetic element on evolution and virulence of Streptococcus agalactiae.

Since her move in the University of Brest, she focused her research on cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease with lung infectious complications highly prevalent in Northwestern France, with a particular interest for the lung microbiota.

She is currently spenting a one-year post-doctoral fellowship in the PhylHom team of the MICALIS Institute (INRA Jouy-en-Josas) to complete her skills on the microbiota analysis and to build bridges between gut and lung microbiotas.
