I have a Master's degree in Microbiology-Immunology from the University of Bordeaux. A first experience as a trainee then engineer assistant within the National Reference Center for Human Chlamydia Infections (current CNR IST of Pr Bébéar, Bordeaux) allows me to expand my range of technical skills in molecular and cellular biology. I was able to apply these skills in the context of typing bacterial strains, or even work on antibiotic resistance in C. trachomatis.

I joined the PhylHom team in May 2017 and took part in projects on the composition of the intestinal microbiota in relation to Crohn's disease and ulcerative-necrotizing enterocolitis in newborns. My activities within the team cover a spectrum of technical and transversal skills ranging from the processing of samples to the management of consumables and biological and chemical waste, as well as the ordering of equipment. I also participated in the training of a trainee (Master's level) on various molecular biology techniques.

On the technical side, I am involved in the sample processing chain from the preparation in the P2 laboratory, then the extraction of the nucleic acids contained in the faeces, via a hybrid protocol (lysis taken from the so-called Godon technique + commercial kit) and DNA assay by Nanodrop. I then ensure the amplification by PCR of the V3-V4 regions of the 16S rRNA, as well as by qPCR on a QuantStudio 3 device. Finally, I prepare the samples to sending them to a sequencing platform (Illumina MiSeq technology). All while ensuring good traceability for each stage of sample processing, from receipt to storage at -80°C.

I am currently involved in a human faeces genotyping project, and am working on the development of a qPCR protocol for this purpose.
