Rafael Muñoz-Tamayo

Rafael Muñoz-Tamayo

PhD student (November 2006 - December 2009)

Rafael did his PhD thesis at INRA under the supervision of Marion Leclerc, Béatrice Laroche and Éric Walter. His thesis was an interdisciplinary project focused on the mathematical description of the fermentation of dietary fibers by the human colonic microbiota.

After his thesis defense in 2010, Rafael did three postdocs on mathematical modelling of microbes, such as lactic acid bacteria (at Wageningen University, The Netherlands), microalgae (at INRIA, Sophia-Antipolis, France) and yeast (INSA, INRA, Toulouse, France).

Since October 2014, Rafael is researcher at the team Systemic Modelling Applied to Ruminants (MOSAR), a INRA-AgroParisTech mixed-research unit. His research aims to better understand the link between diet, microbiota and the host in ruminants via predictive modelling.
