Torsten Scheithauer

2nd year of Master trainee (March - December 2015)

Torsten Scheithauer studied Nutrition, Health and Food Business at the University of Applied Sciences in Fulda (Germany). He completed a 3-month internship at the faculty of chemistry after his first semester, which led to the participation in scientific projects and tutor positions in Fulda. During his third year, he applied to the Queen’s University of Belfast, where he completed a 7-month internship and his bachelor thesis dealing with the role of the histamine 4 receptor in neutrophils. Afterwards he started the master course in Nutrition and Biomedicine at the Technical University of Munich. His third semester, he stayed at the school of Biosciences & Biotechnology of the University of Camerino (Italy). Now he is writing his master thesis at the Micalis Institute about the metabolism and impact of exogenous glucocorticoids on gut microbial communities.
