Project description:

The main focus of the ProCeD team is to better understand the functioning and organization of the peptidoglycan synthesis machinery in bacterial cells. For these purposes, I provide technical support for the members of the ProCeD team in the study of the role of the proteins associated with bacterial actin homologues (MreB). We are investigating the biological role of certain protein-protein interactions through genetic, biochemical, microscopic, cell biology and yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) approaches.
I also work as part of two ANR research projects (BacVirFactory then BacVirRemodel), developed by Rut Carballido-López, on the cellular biology of viral infection. These projects require me to interact with external collaborators. These include the laboratory for molecular and structural virology (LVMS), at CNRS in Gif sur Yvette, France headed by Dr. P. Tavares and a foreign biotechnology laboratory, based in Madrid, called CSIC ("Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas") in collaboration with Dr. S. Ayora. My role in these projects is to study the interactomic network involved in the infection of Bacillus subtilis by the bacteriophage SPP1.

Curriculum Vitae:

MAÎTRISE in biological sciences, specialization in fundamental biology (genetics, physiology, bacteriology and histology). Faculty of Sciences of Granada, Spain.
DEA in Therapeutic Innovation and Cellular Physiology, Faculty of Pharmacy in Chatenay Malabry / INSERM U131 Paris-Sud Cytokines Institute "In vitro evaluation of antituberculous immunity and antagonist treatment of TNF-alpha".

                       ------------------------------------------------

After my training as a biologist at the Faculty of Sciences of Granada, I came to France where I obtained DEA in Therapeutic Innovation and Cellular Physiology.

Subsequently I continued my research activities at INSERM - U764 "Cytokines, Chemokines and Immunopathology" Clamart, where I participated in various clinical research projects that allowed me to broaden my skills and my knowledge in the fields of immunology, molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry and to carry out the development of various in vitro tests (including anti-TNF alpha assay currently used at the Antoine Béclère hospital on certain patients with rheumatoid arthritis). I also realized the implementation of a Quality Assurance approach on the cold chain in a research laboratory.

I worked in the Department of Biotherapy at the Necker Hospital, Paris, on a clinical research project Tetramères, targeting the generation of TCD8 + anti CMV.

Since 2010 I joined the institute MICALIS in the ProCeD team by Rut Carballido Lopez.
