PhD

Recently graduated from Paris 11 University of Pharmacy (PharmD in July 2019), I wanted to work in the research field, particularly in microbiological research. This is the reason why I integrated the Micalis team “BaPS: Bactéries pathogènes et Santé” in October 2019 as a PhD student, under supervision of Dr Thomas Candela.

During my academic career, I made several internships in the research field since I took a very early interest in microbiology. These internships allowed me to discover different topics: first microbial biofilms (BaPS team, 3rd and 4th year internships), then intestinal microbiota and its implication in cancer disease (PhylHom team, 5th year internship) and finally genetics and surface polysaccharides of C. difficile (BaPS team, Master 2 internship). I did IMVI “Infectiology: Microbiology, Virology and Immunology” Master 2 (Paris 7 University & Pasteur Institute) and so completed the Fundamental Microbiology Pasteur Course (2 months).

Now, I am doing my PhD following my master 2 internship, in the same team and on the same subject. I study two surface polysaccharides of C. difficile, their synthesis genes and their vaccinal and therapeutic potential.
