Jonathan Chemouny

Post-doctoral engineer (November 2017 - August 2019)

I am a nephrologist and obtained a PhD in immunology in Professor Monteiro’s lab (INSERM). I worked on IgA nephropathy (Berger’s disease) physiopathology and more especially the role of mucosal immunity and gut microbiota. I coordinated an observational study on this topic (MicrobIgAN study) for which we received a grant from AIRG-France. The results of the experimental side of this project were presented at Kidney Week 2017 and published in the official publication of the European nephrology society.

I joined the PhylHom team in 2017 as a post-doctoral fellow to work on the consequences of maternal exposition to environmental pollutants on the setting of gut microbiota during early childhood with an active participation in both DNA extraction and data analyses. Besides, I am going on in my studies to unravel the relationship between gut microbiota and kidney diseases.
